A Word About Contrast

If you have the contrast and brightness turned down on your monitor, some of the darker, more subtle backgrounds here may look solid to you. If so, consider increasing the contrast and brightness slightly, until you can barely make out a pattern in them. Most graphics on the Internet look better at slightly higher contrast than you might use for something like word processing or programming.
